Beyond the house, the North Shore unfolds.
Cabo Blanco
For legends, long lunches, and waves that don’t mess around
Cabo Blanco is not just a surf spot. It is part myth, part history, part salty obsession.
This is where Ernest Hemingway famously chased and caught some of the largest marlin ever recorded. You can still feel that energy in the air… like something big might happen at any moment.
Pull up a chair, order something cold, and settle in.
From here, you’ve got front-row seats to one of the best waves in the world surfers threading glassy barrels while time slows down around you.
No rush. No plans. Just stay a little longer than you meant to.
Máncora
Color, chaos, and just enough trouble to keep it interesting
Máncora is where the North Shore loosens its top button.
Ten minutes up the coast from Casa AYA, this sun-faded surf town hums with energy. It’s dusty, a little chaotic, and exactly what you want when you feel like swapping stillness for movement.
Start in the local markets. Piles of mangoes, coconuts, limes, things you half recognise and fully commit to anyway. Fresh juices, grilled skewers, vendors calling out like it’s a sport. It’s messy in the best way.
From there, let the day unfold:
Beach Bars & Long Lunches
Drift between barefoot beach spots where ceviche is cut fresh and time becomes optional. Order something cold and stay longer than planned.
Surf & Ocean Play
Máncora’s waves are more forgiving than Cabo Blanco, perfect if you want to get in the water without being humbled immediately.
Boutiques & Artisan Finds
Handwoven pieces, silver jewellery, little treasures you didn’t come looking for but somehow leave with.
Sunset Everything
When the light drops, the whole town shifts. The sky goes soft, the music turns up, and suddenly you’re not in a rush to be anywhere else.
Nightlife (if you’re feeling brave)
It starts late and ends whenever it feels like it. Dip in, dip out, or just people-watch with a drink in hand.
Máncora isn’t polished. That’s the point.
Go for the color, the noise, the unpredictability.
Then head back to Casa AYA, where the ocean resets everything.

🌙 Máncora After Dark
Where things get a little loose… in the best way
Máncora doesn’t do one club.
It does movement. It does “one drink” turning into something else entirely.
Here’s where to go when the sun drops:
Loki del Mar Máncora
Loud, fun, slightly unhinged.
Think themed parties, packed dance floors, and zero judgment.
The Point Máncora Beach
Beach club energy.
Starts with cocktails by the pool, ends somewhere between dancing and not remembering how.
Salinas Máncora
- @salinasmancora
A bit more local, a bit more underground.
This is where you go when you want something less obvious and a little more “you had to be there.”
Terraza Casablanca
Rooftop, ocean air, and just enough polish.
Good for easing into the night before things escalate.
The Reality
Máncora nightlife doesn’t stay in one place. You’ll start somewhere sensible… then end up barefoot on the beach, drink in hand, talking to strangers who suddenly feel like old friends.
